Hi everyone, can anyone please let me know why instead of 4k recording, some wedding videographers are insisting on using 2k or 1080p resolution and then upscaling it to 4k? Thanks in advance
Shooting in 2k is a subjective choice of some wedding videographers, A lot of Wedding videographers prefer to shoot 4k. Some wedding videographers shoot 2k as sometimes a few playback gadgets are not 4k compatible so they often start with 2k resolution (also known as Full HD) because it provides a good balance between image quality and file size, but then upgrade to 4k and clients demand higher resolution footage, which offers significantly more detail, sharper images, and the ability to crop more freely during editing while still maintaining high quality; essentially future-proofing their work for viewing on newer high-resolution screens.
